Aaron Taylor, 87, passed away on Sunday, April 29 from complications of a ruptured aortic aneurism.
He was a native of Bell County Kentucky where he played high school football. He served overseas in the Marine Corps in WWII and as a Lieutenant in the U. S. Army on the front lines of Korea. A business graduate of the University of Kentucky, Aaron had been a used truck dealer, co-owner/General Manager of Parkway Buick-Rambler with his brother, C.M. He purchased and has operated the Greenwood Motel since 1980. He was a charter member of Preston Hills Presbyterian Church, past president of Kingsport Optimist Club and a Mason.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary; parents, Henry and Louanna Taylor; siblings, C.M. Taylor and Shirley Clifford; nephews, Cary and Mark Taylor.
He is survived by two sons, Tim and his children, Peyton and Ali of Kingsport and Steve Taylor and wife, Cathy of Johnson City; brother, Orbin and wife, Shirley of Kingsport; nephews Stewart and Scott Taylor, Jimmy Clifford; niece, Terry Taylor Cox of Kingsport.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, May 2 at Hamlett-Dobson, Kingsport. The funeral service will be conducted at 7 p.m. in the chapel.
A graveside service will be conducted at 10 a.m. on Thursday at Oak Hill Memorial Park.
