Ada I. Casteel, 79, of Kingsport, entered into the arms of Jesus on Wednesday, August 22, 2012 after a long illness. Ada was an amazing caretaker. Over the years she lovingly and selflessly cared for numerous family members in times of need. But her service did not end with her family. Ada was an active member of Sullivan Baptist Church. She was also a member of The Gideon's Auxiliary, Kingsport west camp.
Throughout Ada's entire life, she served in the church and her community. She visited the sick, shut-ins, and nursing homes, taking meals and homemade bread. Ada was never one to be in the spotlight, but was always busy serving behind the scenes, making sure that everyone's needs were met. Her door was always open. Ada loved her Lord Jesus, and she will be sorely missed.
Ada was preceded in death by her husband, AJ Casteel; daughter, Cathy Yvonne Mancuso; grandson, Stephen James Mancuso; great-granddaughter, Hope Suzanne Kassen; parents, Britton and Larnie Mae Harrison; brothers, Buford and Benny Harrison; and sisters, Helen Parker and Betty Bowrey.
