Ada Wallen Moles died Wednesday, May 4, 2011 at Holston Manor after an extended illness. She was born August 15, 1918 in Wise County, VA.
Her husband of more than 50 years, Roy H. Moles and a brother, Robert Wallen preceded her in death.
She is survived by her husband's niece, Greta M. Mahoney and her husband, John Mahoney, who have been her primary caregivers since 1995. She is also survived by a number of other nieces and nephews.
Ada spoke well of everyone and had a great sense of humor. She was mostly self-taught and was amazingly articulate. She spent hours on end studying the dictionary, solving crossword puzzles and doing word search.
After her husband's death she moved into Kiwanis Towers and often remarked as to how happy and blessed she was to live there. For the past 3 and l/2 years she had lived at Holston Manor Nursing Home and was voted by the patients and staff as their first Queen. The family is deeply appreciative of the loving care shown by the staff, particularly, Lorretta, Tequilla, Heather, Ellen, Sara, Lonnie and Ruble retired, and Angie. If we missed someone who treated her exceptionally well, we apologize but Ada knew who you were, you know who you are and God certainly does. Thank you.
Active pallbearer will be her best friend, Gary Vicars. Honorary pallbearers: John Mahoney, Michael Thomas Mooneyham, Phyllis Peace, Bob Peace, Bobby Peace, Jr., Tony Peace, John Williams, Effie Carmack and all her late husband's nieces and nephews.
