Adele Cody Williams, 82, of Kingsport, died at 8:10 p.m. Sunday January 11, 2009 at Wexford House.

Born in Hancock County, she lived in Kingsport most of her life.

Adele was employed with Kingsport Electric Power Company more than forty years.

She was a member of Fellowship Free Will Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Nicholas A. "Nick" Williams; her parents, Charles A. and Eva Gibson Cody; four sisters, Doshua Necessary, Iona Pickens, Mae Bragg, and Hazel Cody; and three brothers, Emmitt L. Cody, Ellis F. Cody, and Homer Allen Cody.

Surviving are two special nieces, Betty Coffey and husband Larry, and Phyllis Egan, both of Kingsport; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday January 15, 2009 at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport, or any time at the home of a niece, Betty Coffey.

Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home with Rev. T. Richard Harris officiating.

Burial will follow in Oak Hill Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests all memorial contributions be made to Calvary Baptist Church / 1238 Pine Street / Kingsport, TN 37664 or Fellowship Free Will Baptist Church / 2313 Portland Ave. / Kingsport, TN 37660.
