Adrian Marshall Sherfey

Adrian Marshall Sherfey, 93, passed away Tuesday, March 27th, 2012 at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center. Marshall was born on March 23, 1919 and had resided in the Fall Branch area most of his life. He served his country proudly in WW II. Marshall retired from Holston Defense in 1981. He was a member of Double Springs Baptist Church where he was a faithful member until his health prevented him from attending.

Marshall was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Lona Ferguson Sherfey; brother, Ralph Sherfey; sisters, Pearl Ferguson, Thelma Barron and Ruby Dickeson.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Pearl Sherfey of the home; daughter and son-in-law, Marsha and Bill Vanderpool of Kingsport; son and daughter-in-law, Wayne and Melissa Sherfey of Fall Branch; son, Joe Sherfey of the home; special granddaughter, Jaime Duncan of Kingsport; granddaughter, Nicole Vanderpool of Kingsport; grandson, Derrek Pugh of Fall Branch; great-grandson, Colton Seal of Kingsport; first cousin, Verna Barnes of Fall Branch; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 28, 2012 from 5-7:00 pm at Hamlett-Dobson, Fall Branch. Funeral services will follow with Pastor Randy Waller officiating.

Military graveside services will be conducted on Thursday March 29, 2012 at 11:00 am at Double Springs Baptist Church Cemetery with the American Legion post 3/285. Pallbearers will be family and friends.
