Nealy Agnes Benfield Hale, 74, passed into God?s kingdom Wednesday, December 6, 2006 at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center.
Born in Sullivan County where she lived most of her life, Mrs. Hale attended school in Sullivan County and also graduated from East Tennessee State University. She was a teacher in the Kingsport area for the Sullivan County School system for 34 years, teaching the second and fifth grades. Mrs. Hale received the Teacher of the Year Award in 1986 from the Ruritan Club.
She was a member of Fort Robinson Baptist Church. She enjoyed sharing her love for the Lord in song in her younger years on the radio.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Rev. Earl and Maude Benfield; husband, Donald F. Hale; and sister, Gladys Carter.
She is survived by her daughter, Donna Salyers and husband, Patrick; and two sisters, Reva Hutson and Clara Bowlin, all of Kingsport.
Calling hours are from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport.
Services will follow at 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home with Rev. Lonnie ?Buddy? Wooten, Jr. officiating.
Burial will follow at Oak Hill Memorial Park.
