Agnes Carpenter Harrell, 98, of Kingsport, died Thursday morning, June 16, 2011 at Holston Manor in Kingsport.
Agnes was born in the Clouds Creek community of Hawkins County and had lived in Kingsport since 1941. She was a member of Sullivan Baptist Church and was a charter member of Reservoir Road Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents Etter and Lelia Mustin Carpenter; husband Silas C. Harrell, Sr.; two sons, Benny Harrell and Jasper Harrell; granddaughter Patricia Marlene Fields; brothers, L.E. Carpenter, Charles Carpenter, Earl Carpenter, Gene Carpenter; sisters Bobbie Price, Cecile Hicks, Faye Begley and Maxine Courtney.
Survivors include her daughter Wanda Fields Light; son S.C. Harrell, Jr. and wife, Cathyrne; brother Roy Carpenter and wife, Bobbie; sisters, Kay Wilder and Kathleen Shelton; grandsons, Mark Fields and wife, Lisa, Jonathan Fields and wife, Debbie and Brent Harrell; granddaughters, Tracie Yates and husband, Todd and Beth Harrell Morrell; great-grandsons, Cameron Fields, Justin Fields, and Tyler Fields; great-granddaughters, Rachel Yates, Danielle Morrell, Cassie Morrell and Rhiannon Harrell along with several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours are from 12:30-2:30 pm Saturday, June 18, 2011 at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport. Services will be conducted at 2:30 pm with Pastor Jeff Strong officiating. Graveside services will follow at East Lawn Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be family and friends.
