Albert H. ?Al? Keisling, Jr., 57, Kingsport, formerly of Church Hill, passed away Wednesday, April 4, 2007 of an apparent heart attack.
He was an electrician and served for more than twelve years as business manger of Local 934, International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, AFL-CIO. Local 934 represents IBEW members in both Northeast Tennessee and Southwest Virginia. Mr. Keisling was an IBEW member for 38 years, working at several locations, including Alaska and New York City. He was active in workers? rights issues in the region and nationally.
In 1992, Mr. Keisling was a member of the Tennessee Campaign Committee for Democratic Presidential aspirant, Bill Clinton. He also served as an Alderman in the town of Mt. Carmel in the early 1990s.
Mr. Keisling was a member of Reservoir Road Baptist Church.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Albert Harry Keisling, Sr. and Beulah Burke Keisling.
Surviving are his daughter, Amy Crawford of Johnson City; three grandsons, Coby, Caleb, and Colin; two sisters, Karen McClure and husband, Terry of Nashville; Cindy Shipley and husband, Tom of Kingsport; one brother, Edward ?Bud? Keisling of Tavares, Florida; one nephew, Terry Neil McClure; three nieces, Amy McClure Fincher, Holly Davenport, and Eliza Speer; six great-nieces and great-nephews; aunt, Marie Blackburn; uncle, Doug Keisling and wife, Nell; and cousin and close friend, Frank Emmett Burke.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport.
Services will follow at 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home with Rev. Rick Light officiating.
Graveside services will be conducted at 3:30 p.m. Monday at East Lawn Memorial Park.
Honorary pallbearers will be IBEW members, Daniel ?Butch? Morelock, Pete Hooven, Bob Weber, Hugh Shields, Joey McQueen, and Roger Farmer.
