Alfred Horace "Red" Burke

Alfred Horace "Red" Burke, 85, of Baileyton, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 3, 2016. He resided in Fall Branch for most of his life. Red retired from Washington County School System and owned and operated the Fall Branch Hardware from 1986 - 2006. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Fall Branch. Red was a 50 year member of Johnson Lodge #274 of F&AM, Fall Branch.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Erma Burke; one daughter, Judy Howell; parents, Sam and Zella Burke; one sister, Anna Lee Middleton; and one brother, Clay Burke.

Red is survived by his daughter, Paula Douglas; four sons, Ronnie Burke and wife Valerie, Jackie Burke and wife Joan, Jeff Burke and wife Lisa, and Randy Burke and wife Stacy; fourteen grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, July 6, 2016, at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Fall Branch. The funeral service will follow at 8 p.m. with Rev. Lowell Phillips officiating. Masonic Rites will be given by Johnson Lodge #274 of Fall Branch.

Graveside services will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Thursday, July 7, 2016 at First Baptist Church of Fall Branch Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Gary Churchwell, Lonnie Fox, Chris Depew, Kevin Burke, Josh Burke, Sam Burke. Honorary pallbearers will be Larry Middleton, David Middleton, O.M. Stacy, Dewayne Rector, Gary Rector, Greg Cates, Kip Burke, and David Moody.

Special thanks to the surgical ICU third floor staff at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center and his home health nurse, Paula Arnold.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to First Baptist Church of Fall Branch Cemetery Fund c/o Jean White 226 Bank Dr Fall Branch, TN 37656.
