Alfred Harold "Red" Isner, born April 22, 1933, in Elkins, West Virginia went home to be with our Lord Jesus Christ after a fight well fought against cancer on Friday, December 17, 2010. Alfred moved from Elkins in 1959 to Canyon Country, California where he was a painter for the Los Angeles Unified School District. He raised his family in Canyon Country where he was a little league coach and umpire for Canyon Country Little League. He then moved to Jonesborough, Tennessee in 2004 where he lived with his son, Tim and daughter-in-law, Jill for part of the year and the other part of the year in Stallings, North Carolina with son, Kerry and daughter-in-law, Raquel. Alfred was a member of Boone Trail Baptist Church.
He is preceded in death by one son, Brad Isner.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Shirley Louise Isner; three sons: Gregory Isner and wife, Rita of Pender, NE, Tim Isner and wife, Jill of Jonesborough, TN, Kerry Isner and wife, Raquel of Stallings NC.; one granddaughter, Melissa Boulton; three grandsons: Chad Isner, Sean Isner, Dustin Isner; one great-granddaughter, Lisa Boulton; two great-grandsons: Robert Boulton, Oliver Isner; sister, Jean Kunkle; niece, Sandra Parker; nephew, Rob McInnes; three great-nieces: Lauren, Jillian and Eliana and one great-nephew, Jack.
Alfred's final resting place is in Elkins, West Virginia. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, February 5, 2011, at 1 p.m. at Boone Trail Baptist Church with Dr. Randall Holmes officiating.
