Alla Deane Downa

Alla Deane Downa, 95, Kingsport, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, April 12, 2020. Born in Dante, VA, she had resided in Kingsport since she was 16.  She had been a volunteer in the Kingsport community for many years. Alla Deane was a member of the First Baptist Church of Kingsport. She and her husband, Carl, started the Mended Hearts organization in Kingsport.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Downa; 2 sons, Steve and Michael Downa; her parents; and 1 sister.

Alla is survived by her daughter-in-law, Delores “Toni” Downa; 2 granddaughters, Jessica and Elizabeth; 2 nephews; and 1 niece.

Graveside services will be private.

Special thanks to the staff of Brookdale Colonial Heights and to Smoky Mountain Hospice for the excellent care they gave to Alla.
