Allen Helmick

Allen Helmick , 49, of Kingsport passed away Wednesday, February 28, 2007 at his home after a long struggle with lung cancer.

Allen was born in Cleveland, OH on September 5, 1957, raised in Norfolk, VA, and moved to Kingsport in September of 2005. Allen worked in various restaurants in Norfolk, VA. Allen leaves behind many dear friends whom he enjoyed dearly.

He was preceded in death by his father, James William Helmick and his grandparents.

He is survived by his mother, Effie Lorine Twiford Helmick; three sisters, Shirley Schakel and husband, Chris, Vicki Lynn Riddick all of Virginia Beach, VA, Sherry Groteaux and husband, Larry of Jennings, LA; two brothers, Jim Helmick of Nashville, TN and Michael Helmick of Chesapeake, VA; fiancée and loving companion, Louise Jernigan; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

It was Allen?s wish to be cremated.
