Allene Boyd

Allene Boyd, 87, Colonial Heights, died peacefully at Holston Valley Medical Center following a brief illness. She was born in St. Petersburg, FL, resided in Charlotte and was a resident in Kingsport since 1956. She had served in several organizations as a volunteer. Allene was a member of Colonial Heights United Methodist Church. She was a loving and devoted wife and mother.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Hayden and Bernice Smith, and one granddaughter, Melanie Knox.

Allene is survived by her husband, Leo Boyd; three daughters, Pam Knox and husband, Charles, Richlands, NC, Sharon Lee, Waxhaw, NC, Sandi Hutchens and husband, Steve, Leesburg, VA; two grandsons, Mark Hutchens and Chris Hutchens; one great-grandson, Patrick Fox Knox; one sister, Corene Brammer, Lakeland, FL.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 4, 2013, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Colonial Heights United Methodist Church. The service will follow with Rev. Robert Burlingham officiating.

The graveside service will be on Thursday, September 5, 2013, at 1:30 p.m. at Sharon Memorial Park in Charlotte, NC.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Colonial Heights United Methodist Church Outreach Program, 631 Lebanon Road, Kingsport, TN 37663.
