Allison Chloe Chapman passed away unexpectedly on Thursday morning, July 11, 2024 surrounded by her beloved fur babies, Koda and Jax. Born on December 7, 2001, Allison was a beacon of joy, strength, and compassion.
A 2020 graduate of Sullivan South High School, Allison was an avid softball player, known for her dedication, leadership and sportsmanship. She fulfilled her dream of playing college softball at Montreat College for two years as a third baseman. At the time of her passing, she was a senior at East Tennessee State University (ETSU), where she was on track to graduate in May 2025 as a Respiratory Therapist. Allison was a dedicated student, making the Dean's List for eight out of her nine semesters while at Montreat College and ETSU.
Allison served as Vice President of her Respiratory Therapy group, advocating tirelessly for her classmates. Her selflessness, empathy, and leadership made a lasting impact on everyone around her. She always put others before herself, ensuring her friends and peers felt supported and valued.
Outside of her academic and athletic achievements, Allison loved playing softball, fishing, spending time with family and friends, and especially enjoyed playing frisbee with her dogs and taking them swimming and for rides in her truck and Jeep. Her smile and laughter were contagious, bringing joy to all who knew her.
Allison was welcomed into Heaven by Jesus and her loved ones who had passed before her: Grandma, Rose Chapman; Aunt, Pam Johnson; Cousin, Joshua Edwards; Great Aunts, JoAnn Franklin and Bonnie Edwards; Great Uncles, Harold Franklin, John Wynn, Tommy Hylton, Eddie Hylton and Lowell Edwards; her best friend, Morgan Bentley; Princess, Delilah Watts, with whom she rocked and read to during her time on earth who was an inspiration to her desire to eventually work as an RT at Vanderbilt; along with other family members and friends.
She leaves behind her parents, Scott and Trish Chapman; sisters, Madison, Katelin, and Kinley; Nana and Grandaddy, Loretta and Ray Edwards; Grandpa, Alfred Chapman; Aunt, Angie Chapman; Uncle, Richard Edwards; cousins, Jessica and Hannah Edwards, with whom she shared a special bond; her fur babies, Koda and Jax; her girlfriend, Elizabeth Eyster; and her second family, Steve, Lorri, Grace, Clay, Tiffany Oliver, and Theo Holt. Allison's memory will also be cherished by a host of other cousins, relatives, teammates, classmates, and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, July 17, 2024 from 5-7 pm at First Baptist Church, Weber City in the gymnasium. The family requests that attendees dress causal and wear green as this is Allison's favorite color. Index cards will be available for sharing memories of Allison, which will be compiled into an album to keep her memory alive. Refreshments will be served, and laughter will be shared in honor of Allison's spirit. At 7 pm, there will be an opportunity for anyone who feels led to share a memory of Allison. Pastor Clay Holt will conclude the service.
Allison's memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew her and loved her.
