Alma Dickerson Turnmire

Alma Dickerson Turnmire, 90, passed away Monday (Dec, 11, 2017) at her home.

She lived in this area all her life and was the co-owner of Turnmire Grocery.

Mrs. Turnmire was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Rev. John Turnmire, daughter and son-in-law, Carolyn and Kevan Hite, granddaughter, Wanda Turnmire, grandson, Michael Anderson, and great-grandchildren, Charity and Nevada.

Surviving are her sons, Marvin Turnmire and wife Betty and Jerry Turnmire and wife Peggy; 9 grandchildren, Melissa Rush, Rhonda Turnmire, Jason Turnmire, Marvin Turnmire, Jr., Brandy Thompson, Matthew Turnmire, Eric and Brian Turnmire, and Freddie Provan, Jr.; 18 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Tuesday (Dec. 12, 2017) from 5-7 p.m. at the Fall Branch Chapel of Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home.

Services will follow at 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Richard Tittle and Rev. Steve Wilson officiating.

Graveside services will be Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. at Cherry Hill Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers are grandsons and great-grandsons, Matthew Turnmire, Brian Turnmire, Marvin Turnmire Jr., Eric Turnmire, Dakota Turnmire, and Silas Turnmire. Honorary pallbearers will be Jason Turnmire, Aron Singleton, Ralph Martin, and Ray Keys.
