Alma P. Webb, 86, formerly of Kingsport went to be with the Lord Sunday night, September 2, 2007, at St. Mary?s Hospital in Knoxville after a lengthy illness.
Born in Scott County, Virginia, she had resided most of her life in Kingsport; but had lived in Knoxville for the last five years.
Mrs. Webb was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church. Among some of her final words were ?I want to be with the Lord.?
Preceding her in death were her husband of 60 years, Echol Lavoy Webb on July 5, 2000; her parents, Ben and Clara Hobbs; a son-in-law, Keith McNutt; and 2 brothers, Lyle D. and Vernon Hobbs.
Surviving are a daughter, Jewel McNutt Garren and husband, Craig, Knoxville; a son, Maurice Lavoy Webb, Kingsport; three grandchildren, Sharon McNutt, Warren McNutt and wife Cyndi, Anthony Lavoy Webb and wife Amber; two great-grandsons, Luke Aaron McNutt, Caleb Andrew McNutt; a sister-in-law, Ethel Hobbs, Kingsport; two nieces; and several cousins, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with Rev. Cecil Sturgill officiating. Burial will follow at Tri-Cities Memory Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Warren Keith McNutt, Anthony Lavoy Webb, Craig Garren, Emerson Jayne, Luke McNutt, and Caleb McNutt.
