Alvin Lynn Jennings

Lynn Jennings 74, of Blountville passed away Saturday November 3, 2007 at James H. Quillen V.A. Medical Center following a brief illness.

He retired from the U.S. Air Force having received the Bronze Star for his time served in Vietnam. Upon retirement from active military service he worked for and retired from the U.S. Postal Service.

Mr. Jennings attended the First Baptist Church in Blountville.

Preceding him in death were his first wife; Rose Jennings, parents; Loren and Ida Jennings, two brothers; Marvin Jennings and Nelson Jennings, one sister; Ruth Stapleton.

He is survived by his wife Margie Jennings, Blountville, two sons; Barry Jennings and wife Elaine, and Bill Jennings both from Yorktown, Virginia, two step daughters; Sharon Begley, Denver, Colorado, and Janet Grant and husband Steve, Blountville, two grandchildren; Gretchen Grant and Meredith Grant, several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Monday from 6:00 pm till 8:00pm at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport.

Graveside services will be conducted at 2:00 pm Tuesday at Mountain Home National Cemetery with Dr. Clay Austin officiating. The Shaw Air Force Base Honor Guard will provide the military graveside rites. The family will meet at the cemetery at 1:45 pm.
