Amanda Beatrice Carroll Persinger

Amanda "Bea" Persinger, 90, of Kingsport, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, September 17, 2013, after an extended illness.
She worked for Sullivan Elementary for several years in the cafeteria. She was a life-long resident of Sullivan Garden area and was a member of Poplar Grove Primitive Baptist Church. She loved to sew and make various crafts and spend time with her family.
Bea was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, friend, and colleague and will be dearly missed.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Virgie Carroll; her husband, Herman Persinger; son, Larry Ellis Persinger; three infant children; and son-in-law, William "Bill" Poole.
Bea is survived by two daughters, Carolyn Persinger of Kingsport and Kathleen Poole of Kingsport; son, Ronald Persinger and wife, Wanda of Kingsport; daughter-in-law, Jerelene Persinger; two grandchildren, Teresa Sybert of Front Royal, VA, and Chad Poole and wife, Becky of Kingsport; three great-grandchildren, Aaron Peters of Johnson City, Hannah Robinette and Mackenzie Poole of Kingsport.
The family will receive friends Thursday, September 19, 2013, from 12 to 2:00 pm at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport. The funeral will follow at 2:00 pm with Elder Oscar Irvin and Elder Burnice Sybert officiating. Special music provided by Andy Wallen.
The burial will follow the funeral service at Oak Hill Cemetery.
The pallbearers will be William Bledsoe, Jr., Doug Salyers, Steve Hunt, R.B. Louthian, Gary Short, Tim Skeens, Gary Skeens, and Johnny Persinger. Honorary pallbearers will be Bill Spurlock and Austin Adams.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Wexford House for the love and care you showed to "Bea."
