Angela Brown Williams

Angela Brown Williams was born July 6, 1924 in Saltville, VA, and passed away Thursday, July 12, 2018, at the age of 94. Her parents were W.B. Brown and Bertie W. Brown. She moved to Kingsport at an early age. After graduating from Dobyns-Bennett High School, class of 1942, she attended Tusculum College. In 1946 she married Henry L. Williams, Jr. Angela was employed at Bennett and Edwards Insurance Company for 29 years as a Claims Representative. She was an active member of First Broad Street United Methodist Church. Angela enjoyed delivering Meals on Wheels for 16 years.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Henry Williams, Jr. and brother, William F. Hart.

Angela is survived by her daughters, Marsha Van Huss Carter and husband, Paul of Kingsport, Melinda Rogers and husband Roger Dale of Kingsport; grandchildren, Benjamin Rogers and wife Becky, Andrew Van Huss and wife Melissa, Sarah Johnson and husband Jason; five great grandchildren, Eli and Hannah Johnson, Owen and Molly Van Huss, and Evalena Rogers; brother, Ed Hart; and sister, Sandra Adams.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. on Monday, July 16, 2018, at First Broad Street United Methodist Church. The funeral service will follow at 7 p.m. with Dr. Randy Frye and The Rev. Jack Weikel officiating.

Graveside services will be conducted at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, July 17, 2018, at Oak Hill Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First Broad Street United Methodist Church, 100 E Church Cir, Kingsport, TN 37660, or the charity of one's choice.
