Angela Kay Gilliam, 49, of Kingsport, went to be with the Lord on Friday morning, June 8, 2018, after a lengthy illness. She attended Sullivan East High School, later graduating from Emmanuel Baptist Church High School. She worked for Pizza Plus Inc. as the office manager for 31 years. Angela was a loving mother and was always kind and generous to others. She loved baking cakes for friends and family. She was an avid photographer and traveler of all the national parks. She also adored her two dogs, Jodie and Harlee.
She is survived by her husband, Dennis Gilliam; daughter, Brandie and husband Michael Wishon; son, Ethan Gilliam and fiancé Kasey; sister, Sandra Tate; brother, Douglas Fleenor; parents, Joyce and Lloyd Fleenor; parents-in-law, Larry and Brenda Gilliam; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; and special friends, Cheryl Morrison and penpal from Japan, Kaori Tsushima.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, June 12, 2018, at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport. The funeral service will follow at 7 p.m.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, June 13, 2018, at Oak Hill Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be family.
Special thanks to the wonderful staff at the UAB Hospital especially those in the Heart Transplant/ICU.
