Angelyn Babb Jobe, 90, Kingsport, died Sunday morning June 17, 2007 at Indian Path Medical Center after an extended illness.
Born in Corinth, MS, she had resided in Columbus, MS most of her life having moved to Kingsport in 1991. She graduated from Lambuth University in Jackson, TN, and received her Masters Degree in Education from Mississippi State University.
Mrs. Jobe taught school in the Columbus, MS city school system for many years. She was a member of Colonial Heights United Methodist Church and was dedicated to serving her Lord. Angelyn enjoyed her family, church, history, storytelling, and travel.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew Wilson Jobe; and one sister, Martha Babb Pittman.
Surviving are her daughter, Martha Lynn Denton and husband, David, Kingsport; three grandchildren, Jonathan Denton and wife, Amanda, Jennifer Denton, and Matthew Denton; brother, Rev. J. G. Babb, Jr. and wife, Bernice, Corinth, MS; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport.
The family will also receive friends Thursday from 10:00 a.m. ? 11:00 a.m. in Corinth, MS at the First United Methodist Church. Services will be Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at the church. Burial will follow at Box Chapel Cemetery there in Corinth.
