Ann Manis Addington, 91 of Kingsport, passed away on Sunday, December 23 at Holston Manor after an extended illness.
A native of Blackwater, VA, she lived most of her life in Kingsport. She was the daughter of Null and Pearl Wallen who preceded her in death. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend. She attended West View Primitive Baptist Church and retired from Oakwood Market at the age of 72.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Martin Manis and Theldon "Pete" Addington; brothers, Charles Howard, Mitchell, Guy, and Jack Wallen; sisters, Ova Wallen, Venus Lawson, and Bonnie Hurd.
Mrs. Addington is survived by her son, Waymond Manis and wife, Phyllis; daughter, Judy Baker and husband, Rick; grandchildren, Kristie J.T. Robinette, Krystal Clements, Kellie Joey Harrison, Teresa Tim Roop, David Martin Amy Williams, and George Michelle Williams; great-grandchildren, Drew and Eli Robinette, Ian Clements, Allie Harrison, Jordan Whitney Roop, David Roop, Chelsea Collins, Hailey, Logan and Audrey Williams, and Devyn and Channing Williams; sisters, Mary Ruth Roller of Indiana and Wanda Jean John Osborne.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, December 27 at 1 p.m. at Hamlett-Dobson, Kingsport with funeral services following in the chapel at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Walter Willis and Rev. John Arnett officiating. Music will be provided by Billy Gillespie. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Memorial Park.
J.T. Robinette, Joey Harrison, Jordan Roop, David Roop, Drew Robinette, Lynn Wallen and Hunter Neely will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Jim Mays, David Williams, Tim Roop and Gary Wallen.
The family would like to extend a deepest appreciation to her caregivers at Holston Manor.
