Ann T. Boyd, 75, Kingsport, died at 2:15 p.m. Friday January 1, 2010 at Indian Path Medical Center after a lengthy illness.
Born in Pineville, KY, she was the daughter of the late Marjorie C. and Joseph E. Thomas. Ann was a graduate of Pineville High School and attended the University of Kentucky. She was a member of Alpha Gamma Delta Sorority.
Ann came to Kingsport in 1961. She was a sustaining member of the Junior League of Kingsport and was a volunteer in many organizations. Ann was honored as "Volunteer of The Year" by the Department of Human Services. Her hobbies included needlepoint, bridge and watching University of Kentucky basketball.
Surviving are her husband of 48 years, Edwin T. Boyd, Kingsport; two sons, Tim Boyd and wife Becky of Lenoir City and Joe Boyd and wife Carla of Knoxville; daughter, Katy Light and husband Chris of Lorton, VA; and four grandchildren, Caroline, Courtney and Jonathan Boyd, and Adam Light.
Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at Oak Hill Memorial Park with Rev. Jack Edwards officiating.
Pallbearers will be John Albrecht, Frank Shuler, Jim Erwin, Lynn Sorrell, Jack Vest and Joe Davidson.
