Anna B. Slemp Holland, 92, of Kingsport passed away on Tuesday evening, September 25, 2018, at Asbury Steadman Hill after a decline in health. Born in Lee County, VA, she had resided in Kingsport since 1966. Anna attended Berry High School and College in Rome, GA and graduated from Radford College in Virginia. She taught school and retired from the Social Security Administration as an administrative aide in January of 1991 after 25 years of service. Anna loved her church, First Presbyterian Church and her Sunday school class. She was active with the Clothes Closet and newsletter. She volunteered at SW Virginia Museum in Big Stone Gap, VA for over 25 years. Anna was a proud member of the DAR (Daughters of the American Revolution) and of the BPW (Business & Professional Women's Club). She was a loving wife, mom, grandmama, and friend.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Beecher J. Holland; parents, Letcher M. Slemp and Nannie Belle Slemp; and brother, L. Bascom Slemp.
Anna is survived by her loving daughter and caregiver, Amy Wagner and husband, David of Big Stone Gap, VA; 2 granddaughters, Leanna Hope Wagner and Ashley DeeAnn Wagner; niece, Stephanie Slemp Fee and husband, Lynn and their children, Aaron and Rachel, and Lynn Slemp and son, Jessee; and several cousins and many friends.
The family would like to thank the staff at Care Central, Asbury Steadman Hill and Suncrest Hospice for all their loving care.
The family will receive friends from 1-3:00 pm on Friday, September 28, 2018 at First Presbyterian Church, Kingsport. The funeral service will follow at 3:00 pm with Sharon Amstutz and Russ Pearson officiating.
The graveside service will be held on Saturday at 11:00 am at Lee Memorial Gardens in Woodway, VA.
