Anna Lou Combs, 83, of Kingsport went to be with the Lord Friday, March 21, 2008, at Ridgecrest Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation in Duffield, Virginia.
Born in Appalachia, Virginia, she had spent most of her life in Kingsport. She was employed by J. Fred Johnson Company and later by the City of Kingsport until early retirement.
Anna was preceded in death by her parents, William M. Combs and Emma Jane Seaver Combs and her brother, W. L. "Jack" Combs and wife Betty Wilson Combs.
Surviving are her nephew, William Michael Combs and wife, Leah, and their daughter, Lindsey Jae; a special uncle and aunt, Robert E. and Lena Seaver Lane; a special aunt, Cecile Seaver Gillenwater; and many special cousins.
The family would like to send a special thanks to the nurses and doctors at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center, Wellmont Bristol Medical Center, and also to the staff at Ridgecrest Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Calling hours are 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Monday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home with Rev. Larry E. Ball officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Memorial Park.
