Anna Blanch Dykes, 88, Kingsport, went to be with the Lord on Friday, October 26, 2012 at her home. She was a lifelong resident of Sullivan County and a member of Long Island Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Luther Dykes; two grandchildren, Tonya Owens and Jeff Dykes; her parents, Asa and Trissie Gilbert and four brothers.
Survivors include her daughter, Betty Owens, Kingsport; two sons, James Dykes, Fall Branch and Luther Dykes, Jr. of Gray; four grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Thelma Wallen, Rogersville; several nieces and nephews; and three special angels, Joan Castle, Annette Pannell and Paula Light.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport or anytime at the home.
Services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with Rev. Mike Pelham officiating. Burial will follow at Light Cemetery in Rogersville.
Pallbearers will be Wayne Dykes, Charles Hicks, Rob Brewer, Everette Cross, Glen Hicks, and Josh Ketron. Honorary pallbearers will be Jim Hicks, Jack Hicks, Ronnie Morrison, Ronnie Hicks and all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
