Anne V. Klisiewicz Poston, 89, of Worcester, East Douglas, Massachusetts and Kingsport, TN, died Wednesday, Oct. 3 at Cape Cod Hospital.

She was born in Douglas, MA, daughter of Thomas and Aniela Klisiewicz. After graduating from Douglas Memorial High School, Mrs. Poston worked for the telephone company in East Douglas and Worcester for 22 years. During WWII, she worked at the telephone center at Fort Devens Lovell General Hospital, where wounded service personnel could make calls. At the end of the war, she was a supervisor there. She then returned to Worcester and was an employment interviewer for the telephone company.

Anne was a Red Cross volunteer at Rutland Heights Veteran Hospital in Rutland, MA and Veteran?s Hospital in Johnson City, TN. She was also a volunteer for the Appalachian Girl Scout Council as a field secretary in Johnson City. In Kingsport, she was a volunteer for the Woman?s Hospital Auxiliary and was a life member, and the Practical Nurses Advisory Committee. She was also a member of the First Baptist Church of Kingsport.

After the death of her husband, she returned to Worcester in 1990. She was a life member of the American Legion Auxiliary, a member of the Telephone Pioneers, and the 39?ers at Coes Pond Village where she resided. She knitted baby blankets for children in the trauma unit at the hospital for the Jewish Community Center.

Her husband of 32 years, Honorable Howard Poston, Kingsport attorney, City Judge and Sullivan County Judge, died in 1987. She is predeceased by a sister Helen and brothers Frank, Walter, Stanley and John. She leaves a sister, Virginia Manganelli of Brewster, MA and a brother, Henry Klisiewicz of Fayetteville, NC and several nephews and nieces, including Virginia Potvin and her husband Robert of Cummaquid, MA.

A graveside service has been scheduled for 10 am Wednesday October 17, 2007 at Oak Hill Memorial Park with Dr. Marvin Cameron of First Baptist Church in Kingsport officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church of Kingsport.
