Annette "Ann" Marshall Miller

Ann Miller passed away on Saturday at July 20, 2013 at the Health Care Center at Asbury Place in Kingsport, TN.
Ann was born November 5, 1930 in Johnson City, TN.
She graduated from Science Hill High School and attended Duke University and ETSU.

Mrs. Miller's past activities include: Girl Scout troop organizer; Presbyterian church groups; Jaycettes; the Women's Symphony Committee, the Holston Valley Hospital Auxiliary, including several terms on the Board; the Kingsport Community Band (she played clarinet); Preston Hills Presbyterian Church, where she served as choir director; president of the Kingsport Mental Health Association; and was a member of the Kingsport Music Club. She was an avid golfer at Meadowview Golf Club. She was a homemaker first and foremost, and loved to spend time with her family.

Mrs. Miller was preceded in death by her parents, Donnie W. and Atwell L. Marshall and her husband of almost 63 years, Sidney B. Miller, Jr.

She is survived by her three daughters Gail M. Eldridge and husband Everette M. "Pete" Eldridge of Kingsport, TN; Suzanne M. Elsea and husband Carl O. "Bud" Elsea, Jr. of Norcross, GA; Sarah M. Morelock and husband Anthony "Tony" Morelock of Johnson City, TN; three grandchildren: Jennifer Harris of Frederick, MD; Melissa E. Rivers and husband Matthew Rivers of Kingsport, and Ethan M. Morelock of Johnson City, TN; and three great-grandchildren: Benjamin Harris, Connor Rivers, and Zack Rivers.

The family wishes to thank the staff of the Health Care Center at Asbury Place in Kingsport and Wellmont Hospice for their extraordinary care and compassion.


The Memorial Service for Ann will be held on July 22, 2013 at 1:00 PM at Preston Hills Presbyterian church with Rev. Barron Hopper officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.
