Annie C. Chapman, 79, of 296 Click Town Road, Church Hill, TN, heard the Master's call at 4:15 p.m. on Saturday, May 20, 2017. She was born on September 3, 1937, in Mooresburg, TN. Annie accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior and was a spiritual leader to all who were around her. She was a member of Greenvale Missionary Baptist Church. Annie was a caring woman who loved the Lord, her family, and her grandchildren very much.
In addition to her parents, John and Hazel Brooks, she was preceded in death by her brother, J. Fred Brooks.
Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 61 years, Bruce D. Chapman; two sons, Bruce S. Chapman and wife Katy, and Donald Chapman and wife Lori; one daughter, Patricia Archer and husband, David; eight grandchildren, April Chapman, Adam Barrett, Sara Wade, Levi Chapman, Michelle Gunter, Cissy Archer, David A. Archer, and Lee Archer; ten great-grandchildren, Chloe, Abigal, Elsie, Acadia, Orianna, Stella, Aiden, Belle, Kaylee, and Brayden; sisters, Nan K. Ritchie, Margie B. Harlow, Elizabeth Wooten and husband Joel, Sue Shelton, and Johnevea Ferguson and husband Dave; one brother, John M. Brooks, Jr. and wife Peggy; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, May 24, 2017, at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, 117 E. Charlemont Ave., Kingsport, TN 37660. A Celebration of Life service will follow with Pastor Joe Shelton officiating.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Thursday, May 25, 2017, at Chapman Family Cemetery, Mt. Plesant Gap, Stanley Valley Rd.,
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
