April Ann Barnes
April Ann Barnes, 71, Kingsport, went to be with the Lord Saturday, March 23, 2013 at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center following a very brief illness.
She was a lifelong resident of Kingsport where she was born. April Ann was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker. She enjoyed reading, gardening and taking care of her mother.
April Ann was a member of Way of Life Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by an infant son, Randy Barnes; maternal grandparents, Otis and Causby Rasnake; a son-in-law, Darrell Fugate; mother-in-law, Lula Mae Spears; and father-in-law, Jesse Barnes.
Surviving are her husband of 51 years, Jim Barnes; three daughters, Debbie Fugate of Kingsport, Angie Garber and husband Kevin of Kingsport, Becky Repass and husband Carl of Mt. Carmel; six grandchildren, Heather Jones, James Jones, Randy Garber, Kayla Barnes, Jessica Garber, and Tiffany Fugate; five step-grandchildren, Nikki Repass, Savannah Repass, Trey Repass, Aurora Repass and Kylie Repass; her mother, Hazel Rasnake; sisters-in-law, Janice Fannon, Peggy Skeens, Patsy Whitaker and husband, Claude; father-in-law, Rant Spears; and several aunts and cousins.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport. Services will follow at 7 p.m. with Pastor Johnny Gibson officiating.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Tri-Cities Memory Gardens.
