Arlen C. Easley, Jr., 86, Kingsport, passed away Thursday June 16, 2011 at his home.
Born and raised on Reservoir Road, Kingsport, TN, he was the son of the late Arlen Easley and Iva Fink Easley.
Mr. Easley was a World War II veteran with service in the U. S. Coast Guard and the U. S. Marines. He saw action with the First Provisional 4.5 Rocket Detachment on Iwo Jima and also served during the Korean Conflict. Mr. Easley was a lifetime member of the VFW Post No. 3382.
He was employed with Tennessee Eastman Company for 37 years as a supervisor in several Coalition Control Laboratories and later he serviced for 5 years as a supervisor in Building 75 Maintenance.
Mr. Easley attended and was a lifetime member of Depew s Chapel Methodist Church where he served for 18 years as treasurer.
Surviving are his wife of 63 years, Stella Mays Easley, Kingsport; two sons, Arlen C. Easley III and wife Vickie and Larry Easley and wife Orlinda, all of Kingsport; one granddaughter, Lauren Easley of Kingsport; one step-granddaughter, Stephanie Higgins; one step-great-granddaughter, Micayla Higgins; one step-grandson, Jake Stamper and wife Rebecca; one step-great-grandson, Recer Stamper; one sister, Patsy Bentley and husband Raymond; and two half brothers, Kenny Jones and Phil Jones.
The family wished to express their thanks to the staff of Amedisys Hospice, especially Doreene Meadows and Angela Grimsley.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport.
Services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Depew s Chapel Church with Pastor Nathan Ware officiating.
Burial will follow at Depew s Chapel Church Cemetery with military honors held by the American Legion Posts #3/265.
