Arlene Hall Evans, 91, of Fall Branch, passed away on Monday, April 13, 2009, at Indian Path Medical Center following a brief illness.
She was born and raised in Greene County, and resided most of her life in the Fall Branch area. She was a member of Lovelace Baptist Church. She loved to read, and enjoyed the challenge of crossword puzzles.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Murrell and Adda C. Hall; her husband of 65 years, William Howard Evans; two sisters, Aileen Hall and Janice Hall Mays; five brothers, Gerald Hall, Russell Hall, Donald Hall, Garland Hall, and an infant brother, Harvey Hall.
Surviving her are five nephews, Keith Mays and wife Anna, Jerry Hall and wife Shirley, Alan Hall and wife Shirley, all of Kingsport, and Donald Hall and Robert Hall, both of Baltimore, Maryland; a niece Elizabeth Dodge, Baltimore, Maryland; and special friend Roger McAmis.
Services will be conducted on Wednesday evening at 8:00 at the Fall Branch Chapel of Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, with Rev. Jerry Hall and Rev. Allen Brummett officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 prior to the service. Graveside services will be held Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at the Lovelace Baptist Church Cemetery in Fall Branch. Those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the cemetery at 10:50 a.m.
Serving as pallbearers will be E. B. Moore, J. D. Moore, Marrell Parker, Rye Pierce, Roger McAmis, and
Alan Hall. Honorary pallbearers are members of the Fall Branch Volunteer Fire Department.
