Arline Settlemyer Holt

Arline Settlemyer Holt passed away on Sunday evening, March 16, 2025. She was 97 years old, just two weeks shy of her 98th birthday. She was of the Baptist faith and a member of the First Baptist Church for over 70 years.

She was born in Rock Hill, SC. Arline graduated from Rock Hill High School in 1944 and then Winthrop University in 1947 with a B.S. in Business and a teaching certificate. She then moved to Kingsport as an employee of Tennessee Eastman Company where she worked as an executive secretary.

Mrs. Holt was preceded in death by her parents, Ora Hance and Harry Settlemyer; husband, Ernest E. Holt; daughter, Julie Holt; sister, Agnes Holler and husband Joe; sister Margaret Crocker and husband James H.

She is survived by her daughter Lisa Holt of Florence, KY; nephew James H. Crocker of Castle Rock, CO; niece Josie Crocker of Myrtle Beach, SC; and several great nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, March 22, 2025 at 3:00 p.m. at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport. The family will receive friends following the funeral service.
