Arnold Blankenship

Arnold Blankenship, 95, passed away on Monday November 25, 2024, at his home in Piney Flats, Tennessee. Born on April 28, 1929, in Jamboree, Kentucky, he was the son of James Blankenship and Polly Wolford Blankenship. Arnold had lived in the Piney Flats area since 1997. He retired from the coal mines after over 30 years of service and was a member of the United Mine Workers #1511.

Mr. Blankenship was pre-deceased in death by his wife, Brooksie Blankenship; son, Jim Blankenship; brother, Garland, and 8 sisters; Cora, Leanie, Annie, Pearl, Myrtle, Edith, Mae, and Alta. He is survived by his sons, Kenneth Blankenship, Steven Blankenship and wife Lillian; grandson, James Arnold Blankenship, and several nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held from 1:00p.m. – 3:00p.m. on Friday, November 29, 2024, in the Chapel of Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home & Memorial Park, 2630 Hwy. 75, Blountville, Tennessee. A funeral service will be held at 3:00p.m. officiated by Pastor Ryan Shaffer. The graveside service will follow in the Garden of Prayer.
