Arnold Russell "Mickey" Greer, Jr. passed away Wednesday, March 18, 2008 at home.

He was born in Bristol, TN, on June 6, 1936. He was retired from the CM&S Division of Eastman Kodak after 36 years of service. He was a member of Bethany Presbyterian Church where he served as an elder and sang in the church choir. Mickey graduated from East Tennessee State University with an honors BS degree in mathematics. He loved spending time with his family, particularly with his grandchildren. He was an avid reader and loved to travel especially spending time in the South Carolina Low Country at his condo in Hilton Head. He enjoyed all sports and maintained a lifelong passion for the Boston Red Sox.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Arnold Russell Greer, Sr. and Gladys Seneker Greer, and one brother, Daniel Franklin Greer.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Mary Lynn Greer of the home; two sons, Michael Greer and wife Pam, Kingsport, Donald Greer and wife Debbie, Kingsport; one daughter, Vicki Winkle and husband Mark, Kingsport; twelve grandchildren, Andrew Greer, Eric Greer, Amanda Greer, Ashton Greer, Benjamin Greer, Hunter Greer, Katie Easler and husband Will, Mandy Winkle, Blake Winkle, Mickey Winkle, Adrienne Lawson, Will Lawson; sister-in-law, Donna Allen and husband Chris, Bristol, TN; two nieces, Mary Elizabeth Allen, Arlington, VA, and Laura Allen, Tazewell, VA.

Calling hours are from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday at Bethany Presbyterian Church, Kingsport.

The funeral services will be conducted at Bethany Presbyterian Church on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. with the Pastor Chuck Echols and Rev. Miller Liston officiating.

Graveside services will follow at East Lawn Memorial Park, Kingsport. Pallbearers will be Chris Allen, Michael Lee, Jimmie Agner, Allen Tilley, David Ringley, Larry Moore, Ricky Slough and Jimmy Canty. Honorary pallbearers will be Eloise Ward, GW Hamilton, Bonnie Agner, Dewey Crum, Walter Kirby, Ed Wexler and Bruce Townsend.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Bethany Presbyterian Church, 5825 Fort Henry Drive, Kingsport, TN 37663.

A special thanks goes out for the love and care shown by the following caregivers during his illness: Dr. Edwin McElroy and nurse Joyce Siegel, nurse Debbie Carter, Hospice House and staff - particularly Angie, Becky and Rebecca.
