Arthur W. Stair II

Arthur Winfield Stair II, 66, Kingsport, passed away on Saturday, November 1, 2014.

He was a life-long member of First Baptist Church, Kingsport. He graduated from Dobyns-Bennett in 1967. He retired from Eastman Chemical Company after more than 45 years of service. Music was a huge part of Art's life. He played in several bands in the 60's. He later played with The Reflections and most recently The Has Beens. He particularly enjoyed playing with the First Baptist Praise Band/Praise Choir and the church orchestra. As a lover of water, he loved skiing, boating, and scuba diving throughout his life.

Art was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur W. and Marjorie T. Stair.

He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Carin Stair; son, Art W. Stair III and wife, Lisa; daughter, Ashley Stair Taylor and husband, Dan; grandchildren, Jazmine Stair, A. Winfield Stair IV, and Travis Taylor; brother, Kent. T. Stair and wife, Jan; nephew, Taylor Stair and wife, Alden, and their children, Leighton and Harrison; and niece, Hannah Roberts and husband, Ricky.

The family will receive friends on Thursday from 5 to 7 pm at First Baptist Church.
The memorial service will follow at 7 pm with Dr. Marvin Cameron officiating.
