Arthur James Wells, Jr., 80, Kingsport, passed away Tuesday, April 23, 2013 at his home.
He was a lifelong resident of Kingsport. Arthur served in the U. S. Army and was a veteran of the Korean Conflict, serving stateside. He worked for Sterchi's Furniture Store, Elkin's TV Service, Kingsport Press, and Mead Paper, where he was known as "Kitty".
He was a loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Arthur was a wonderful man who cared for his ailing wife for many years before her death. She died four years ago and today he has been reunited with the love of his life. He was devoted to his family, always ready to help any way he could. Arthur loved family weekend visits and dinners together. He loved his daughters and always looked out for them, even after they were grown. His grandchildren and great-grandchildren were his life. He was our "voice of wisdom" who all the family went to for advice. He was our greatest supporter and left behind a legacy of strong morals and values. He will be greatly missed.
