Austin Clinton Jones

Austin Clinton Jones, 22, Church Hill, TN, was called home on Monday, May 21, 2018, as a result of injuries he received in a car accident. He was born in Kingsport on October 26, 1995. He attended Volunteer High School and graduated from Sullivan South with Honors in 2014, where he was a member of the football team. Two weeks ago Austin received his Associates Degree in Applied Science from Northeast State Community College. Austin loved motorcycles, football, hiking especially to waterfalls, and enjoyed staying up all night playing video games with his brother, Brandon.

He was preceded in death by an uncle, William Christopher Long.

Austin is survived by the love of his life, Beth Street; mom, Melissa A. Jones and fiancé, Andrew Mellons; father, Grover Clinton Jones and fiancée, Wilma Louise Robinette; brother, Brandon Taylor Jones; grandparents, Joyce Bishop and husband, Joe, Bill "Ob" Long and wife, Linda, and great-grandparents, Albert Jones and Virginia Jones; great-grandmother, Ethel Maness; and several aunts and uncles.

Special thanks to the Cheddar's family and the staff at Holston Valley Medical Center.

The family will receive friends from 5-7:00 pm on Friday, May 25, 2018 at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport. The funeral service will follow at 7:00 pm with Rev. Todd Jennings officiating and a eulogy given by Coach Sam Haynie.

The graveside service will be held on Saturday at 1:00 pm at Oak Hill Memorial Park. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
