Austin Howard Kennedy, Jr.

Austin Kennedy went to be with the Lord on Sunday, August 25, 2024, at his residence. Born on November 8, 1942, he was the son of Austin Kennedy, Sr. and Alberta Hamlin Kennedy. Austin proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy where he worked on many types of aircraft. He retired from Airgas Products after many years of service where he worked as a technician. 

Mr. Kennedy was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 57 years, Judith V. Kennedy; and brothers, Dorald E. Kennedy and Gene Randolph Kennedy. He is survived by his son, Gary Kennedy (Jennifer); daughters, Tammy Kennedy and Angela Kennedy; grandchildren, Darby Dunford (Trevor Martin), Austin Asher (Amber Henson), Hayden Kennedy and Emma Kennedy; great-grandsons, John Poe and Waylen Clark; sisters, Rowena Brown (Donnie) and Carole Ann Kennedy; and several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at 12:00 noon on Saturday, August 31, 2024, in the Garden of Solomon at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home & Memorial Park, 2630 Hwy. 75, Blountville, TN. The service will be officiated by Pastor Chris Alford with military rites presented by American Legion Post #3/265.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the American Legion Post #3/265.
