Austin Glenn Summey

Austin Glenn Summey, 29, of Church Hill passed away unexpectedly, Monday, August 12, 2024. He was born to parents, Ralph and Kathy Summey on May 3, 1995 in Fort Campbell, KY. He was a graduate of Volunteer High School and worked at Burger King. Austin shared a special bond with his mamaw, and his mom was his best friend. He was a kind and loving soul who preferred the company of his family and girlfriend over anyone else. Austin was a music lover with his favorite band being Led Zepplin. He was known as a jokester, due to his ability to make anyone laugh and smile. Austin’s presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Austin was preceded in death by his papaw, Ralph Summey, Sr.; great-papaw, Claude Blizzard; cousin, Russell Ferrell; great-uncle, Mack Ferrell; great-aunt, Janice Ramsey; and great-uncle, Jimmy Marshall.

Those left to cherish his memory include his mother, Kathy Summey; father, Ralph Summey; girlfriend, Jackie Hipsley; grandparents, Frances and Robert Jenkins; mamaw, Patty Summey; special aunt, Karen Derrick; aunt, Vickie Nowlin (Larry); uncle, Kenneth Cline (Sallie); special great-aunts, Virgie Ferrell, Joan Campbell and Shirley Marshall; cousins, Brittany Derrick, Jason Ferrell, Brian Ferrell, Jamie Marshall, Lisa Ramey (Roy), Stephanie Meade, David Marshall and Josh Meade.

The family will receive friends Saturday, August 24, 2024 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport. A memorial service will follow at 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Pastor, Troy Daily officiating.
