Avonell Faye Absher, 64, Kingsport, went home to meet her savior on Friday May 7, 2010 after a brief illness.
Faye was loved by all who knew her and will be missed greatly.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Absher; mother, Inez Faye Lawson Absher; step-father, Richard Dee Absher; sister-in-law, Sharon Absher; aunt, Avonell Lawson Tate; and nephew, Henry Absher.
Surviving are her three sons, Jeffrey Ratliff and wife, Sherie, Hardamen County, TN, Jack Absher, Jr., and Bobby Absher, both of Kingsport; brothers, David Ratliff and wife, Charlotte, Emmett Butch Absher, Ronnie D. Absher, and Matthew D. Absher, all of Kingsport; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; uncles, Curtis Absher and Mack Absher; several half-brothers and sisters; along with several nieces and nephews; and one loving pet, Bullet.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 12:00 noon to 1:30 p.m. at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport. Services will follow at 1:30 p.m. with Rev. Raymond Hammonds officiating. Burial will follow at Chestnut Flats.
Pallbearers will be David Ratliff, Emmett Absher, Ronnie Absher, Matthew Absher, David Ratliff II, and Cheyenne Williams.
The family would like to extend special thanks to Dr. Pokampalli and the Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center ICU and W-3 nurses for the care given to Faye in her time of illness.
