Awyn Ann Wheeler Walls, 77, Kingsport, went to be with the Lord Tuesday, July 10, 2007 at Johnson City Medical Center.
Born and raised in Asco, West Virginia, she was a graduate of Welch High School. Mrs. Walls retired from the Sullivan County School System in the Food Services Division.
She loved her husband, children and family. Mrs. Walls also loved to camp, participate in senior citizen church activities, and in her latter years, she had developed her talent in painting.
Saved at an early age, Awyn dedicated her life in service to the Lord. She attended Homeland Baptist Church.
Preceding her in death were her parents, John and Mary Wheeler; five sisters; one brother; and one grandson, Brian David Walls.
Surviving are her husband, Dale Walls, Kingsport; two daughters and sons-in-law, Yolanda and Jerry Steadman, Kingsport, Jennifer and Ken Reed, Pleasanton, California; three sons and daughters-in-law, Remley and Sandy Walls, Gahanna, Ohio, Carlyle and Bobbie Walls, Las Vegas, Nevada, Victor and Judy Walls, Texarkana, Texas; one sister and brother-in-law, June and Robert Grant, Detroit, Michigan; one brother, John Elliott Wheeler, Jr., Alexandria, Virginia; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport. Services will follow at 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home with Pastor J. W. Depew officiating.
Graveside services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday at East Lawn Memorial Park.
Nephews and members of Homeland Baptist Church will serve as pallbearers.
