Azel M. Smith Olinger, 96, of Blountville, died peacefully Tuesday morning, June 5, 2018, at Hospice House of Bristol. Born in the Indian Springs Community, Azel had lived her entire life in Sullivan County. She was a homemaker and member of Good Shepherd Baptist Church. Azel enjoyed crocheting, cooking and spending time with her family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur B. Olinger; sister, Louise Lemons; and brothers, Elbert, Isaac, Wallace and Henry.
Azel is survived by her daughter, Mary Innis Olinger of Blountville, and many nieces, nephews and friends.
The family will receive friends from 5-7:00 pm on Friday, June 8, 2018 at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport. The funeral service will follow at 7:00 pm with Pastor Robert Fletcher officiating.
The graveside service will be held on Saturday at 11:00 am at East Lawn Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Paul Light, Benjamin Lane, Jonathan Clark, David Lemons, Kenneth Lemons, Buddy Smith and Wells Lemons. Johnny Clark will be an Honorary Pallbearer.
