Barbara Corliss Bemrich

Barbara Corliss Bemrich passed away on Tuesday, August 6, 2019 at Holston Valley Medical Center. She was born October 20, 1954 in Oakland, California to Louise Hill and Clark Howard Corliss.  She was a graduate of Trinity University.  Barbara married Stephen Bemrich on May 14, 1975 and they began their lifelong adventure. They raised their 3 children, Christina, Rob, and Rebecca across the world.  While raising her children she completed her master’s degree in education from Alabama A&M University, working as a teacher wherever her travels brought her.  After her husband’s death in 2014, she moved to Kingsport to be with her family.  Since arriving she had been a member of Holston Valley Unitarian Universalist Church, participating in their Sunday School and Caring Team.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother, James Corliss and son-in-law, Michael Stolz.

Barbara is survived by her children Christina Bemrich-Stolz, Rob Bemrich and wife, Christy and Rebecca Bemrich Menius and husband, Brian; grandchildren, Katie and Robbie Bemrich, and David and Samuel Stolz; sister, Judy Frish; and brother, Steve Corliss.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 am on Saturday, August 10, 2019 at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport. The memorial service will follow at 11:00 am with Jeff Briere officiating.
