Barbara Ann Blakley

Barbara Ann Blakley, 72, Fall Branch, TN, went home to be with the Lord with her family by her side on Sunday (September 8, 2013) at her residence following a period of declining health.

Born in Sullivan County, TN, on January 16, 1941, a daughter of Virginia F. Johnston Beaman and the late Eldridge C. Beaman, she had resided in this area her entire life.

Barbara was a member of Double Springs Baptist Church and a former insurance agent.
She had a strong empathy for others and sacrificed a lot to provide her time, love and comfort to family and friends. She will be greatly missed.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center for their loving care during her extended illness.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Nancy and Patsy.

Barbara is survived by her husband of 54 years, Bobby Blakley of the home; Tony Blakley and wife, Gail, Piney Flats; Tammy Roberts and husband, Eric, Cleveland, TN; two grandchildren, Lexi Blakley and Sami Roberts; mother, Virginia F. Johnston Beaman, Kingsport; sister, Rita Jobe and husband, Donald, Kingsport; several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 10, 2013, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Fall Branch. The service will follow at 8:00 p.m. with Dr. Stan Anderson officiating.

The graveside service will be on Wednesday, September 11, 2013, at 1:00 p.m. at Double Springs Baptist Church Cemetery. Those attending committal services are asked to assemble at the cemetery by 12:45 p.m. Wednesday. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Class of 1959 Sullivan High School.
