Muriel Barbara Dalton, 67, of Kingsport, passed away peacefully Wednesday, August 29, 2007, at her home surrounded by her family.
Born in Brooklyn, New York, she and her husband, Jack, raised their family on Long Island, New York. Barbara moved to several parts of the country eventually making Kingsport her home. She fell in love with Kingsport and considered it to be God?s country.
Her vocation was a counselor and mentor of young women. She was a devoted wife and mother, loving grandmother, loyal friend, and a woman of great faith.
Preceding her in death were her husband, John J. Dalton; and a son, Robert Dalton.
Surviving are one daughter, Barbara Breen and husband, Gerard, Kingsport; one son, John Dalton, Coconut Creek, FL; eight grandchildren, Ryan, Matthew, Kevin, Conor, and Steven Breen; and Nicholas, Caitlin, and John Dalton; one sister, Patricia Pearson and husband, Robert, Hackettstown, NJ; one uncle, John Duffy, Phillipsburg, NJ. Barbara has been blessed with several close friends and relatives including several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, and many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to send a special thanks to Dr. Shelton Hager and Dr. Steven Baumrucker.
There will be a memorial service at 3:00 p.m. Saturday at St. Dominic Catholic Church with Rev. Charles Burton officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the memorial service at the church.
