Barbara Ruth Church Harrison
Barbara Ruth Church Harrison, 72, of Gray passed away on Sunday, January 9, 2011. Born and raised in Kingsport, she had resided in East Tennessee all of her life.
Barbara worked for many years at North Electric, then as a manager for White's Fresh Foods in Gray where she retired. She attended Rock Heritage Baptist Church. Barbara was a star athlete in softball and basketball. She acheived several honors in the state. In her later years, she was an avid fan of Daniel Boone Baseball. She loved her children, grandchildren and most recently her dog, Buffy.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Harrison; parents, Carl and Tommie Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Donna Raphael of Gray, and Deborah Harrison-Wagner and husband, Rick also of Gray; three grandchildren, Tyler Sewell and wife, Chauntee, Daniel Wagner, DeAndra Sewell; brother, Grady Church and wife, Nelda of Kingsport.
The family will receive friends from 4:30-6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 11, 2011 at Rock Heritage Baptist Church. The service will begin at 6:00 with Pastor Garry Eads officiating.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday at Washington County Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers are Caleb Corona, Kurt Carty, Rusty Rowe, Richard Glass, Paul Milliken, Jalen Bridwell, Michael Osterman, Rick Wagner and Daniel Wagner.
