Barbara Jean Murray

Barbara Jean Murray, 81, of Kingsport passed away on Wednesday, July 6, 2016.
Born in Kingsport, she had lived in this area all her life. Barbara never met a stranger. She was a wonderful mother who made a great pot of soup beans.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Dee and Ruby Dykes; her brother, Claude Dykes; her grandson, Jason Spears; and son-in-law, Lynn Bishop.

Barbara is survived by her daughter, Phyllis Bishop; two sons, Chris Murray and wife, Beth, and Gary Murray; fourteen grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; three sisters, Annis Miller and husband, Hal, Margaret Manis and husband, McKinley; and Lois Jones and husband, Bobby; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 1 to 3:00 p.m. on Saturday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport. The service will follow at 3:00 p.m.
