Barbara L. Pryor

Barbara L. Pryor, 79, of Kingsport, died Monday evening, July 11, 2016, at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center after cardiac arrest. Born in Columbia, SC, she had resided in Kingsport since 1962. Barbara had been a member of First Baptist Church since 1962 where she taught pre-school for many years. She was a member of the hand bell choir and a faithful member of the Friendship Sunday school class. Barbara was an incredible seamstress and enjoyed gardening.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Marian Dolores Pryor, and parents, Edgar and Marga Livingston.

Barbara is survived by her husband, Harold Pryor of the home; daughter, Cheryl Pryor McCauley and husband, Frank of Johnson City; son, Dr. Ken Pryor and wife, Kim of Knoxville; and three grandchildren, Kate Pryor, Kelly Pryor and Madison McCauley.

The family will receive friends on Thursday from 6-8:00 pm at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport.

The funeral service will be held on Friday at 11:00 am at First Baptist Church with Dr. Marvin Cameron officiating. A family burial will be held at East Lawn Memorial Park.
