Barbara Jean LeVar, 75, of Kingsport, died Friday evening, February 25, 2011 at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center after a brief illness.
Born in Lake City, FL, Barbara Jean was raised in Tarpon Springs, FL and a graduate of the Tarpon Springs High School Class of 1953. She resided from 1959 to 2007 in Seminole, FL before moving to Kingsport in September 2007. Barbara Jean was co-owner of LeVar Well Drilling and Pumps Inc.
She was a Baptist and loved making floral arrangements and traveling. Barbara Jean was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend.
Her son, Richard William LeVar preceded her in death.
Surviving are her husband, James R. LeVar of the home; her daughter, Lorraine Lynn LeVar of New Port Richey, FL; and one grandson, James Raymond Carter of St. Augustine, FL.
A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport with Dr. Ed Clevinger officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home following the memorial service.
